Family has always been an important value in my life.
It started at a very young age. From my parents, I learned the value of hard work, honesty, and compassion. I saw the sacrifices that they made to give me and my brother every opportunity, and support us no matter what. Their love and support had a big impact on me as I was growing up and becoming the person I am today.
Now that I have four kids of my own, I hope to instill the same values in my children. As a parent, I would do anything to make sure that my children feel supported, and that they are healthy and safe.
I understand how fiercely a parent wants to protect their child. I also understand how helpless you can feel when your child goes off into the world, and you can’t control what happens to them or the choices they make.
Sometimes, things go wrong. Accidents happen that you have no control over. No matter how well you have prepared your child to make good choices, or how carefully you have protected them, mistakes happen. But that doesn’t mean that you won’t do everything that you can to protect your child.

Throughout my entire career, protecting children has always been my number one goal.
My first job after passing the bar and becoming a lawyer was as a public defender in the Bridgeport Courthouse. My clients were young people who did not have the resources or the skills to catch a break. They needed someone to believe in them and protect their best interest when it came to the legal system.
From 2007-2012, I was this person. I worked with juvenile offenders who did not have anyone else to defend them. In 2012, I joined the team at Ruane Attorneys. This law firm gave me the opportunity to help even more young people through both the juvenile defense branch as well as the personal injury branch. As I started my own family, this was an opportunity that excited me.
